The Canary Islands are located just off the north-west coast of mainland Africa. They are made up of seven main islands and six islets. These islands are a major attraction for birdwatchers from all over the world as they are home to many endemic species and subspecies including Fuerteventura Chat, Blue Chaffinch and Bolle's and Laurel Pigeon.
